How To Apply
UPDATE
In July 2008,
the Foundation moved to a 2-step application process designed to streamline the review process and notify applicants in a more timely fashion.
Letter of Inquiry
The Foundation has two grant cycles per year. To apply for a grant an organization must first fill out the Letter of Inquiry (LOI) available on the website. Organizations will be notified of the outcome of their LOI within 45 days of submission.
Due to the budget information that must be included with the LOI, organizations must submit the LOI via U.S. Mail or commercial carrier. It must be postmarked by the day of the deadline. Faxed, e-mailed, or hand delivered copies will not be accepted.
Mail your LOI to:

Full Application
Those organizations that best fit the Foundation's grant guidelines, criteria, and funding priorities will be invited to submit a full grant application, which will be e-mailed to the organization. Completed applications received by the due dates will be scheduled for a site visit and reviewed by the Board of Directors in May and November at their Board meetings. The Board of Directors will review approximately 30 grant requests per year.
LOI and Full Application Postmark Deadlines:
LOI Deadlines: March 2 and September 14
(notification within six weeks of deadline)
Full Application Deadlines: January 20 and June 22
(notification in May and November respectively)
