Scholarship Program

Instructions for the applicant

Thank you for your interest in the John Gogian Family Foundation Scholarship Program. This scholarship program is open only to senior high school students who attend Centennial, Dominguez, or Compton High Schools in Compton, CA. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Please complete the following four steps:

  1. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
    To be completed by the student applicant. All three pages of the application must be filled in. Leave no blank spaces.

  2. STUDENT ESSAY
    To be completed by the applicant and attached to the application.
  3. PARENTAL AUTHORIZATION FORM
    To be signed by your parent or guardian. Take the signed Parental Authorization Form (to release school records) to your counselor or school registrar. Collect the sealed transcript from your counselor and include it with your completed application packet.

  4. RECOMMENDATION LETTER
    To be completed by a teacher, school counselor, community leader, or employer. Include the Recommendation Letter with your completed application packet.

Your completed application packet must contain the following:

  • Scholarship application
  • Student essay
  • Sealed school transcripts (must include first semester grades from your senior year)
  • Recommendation letter

Application packet must be postmarked by March 14th.
Our staff and Scholarship Committee will review all applications. Scholarship recipients will be announced in April.
